I had forgotten…

What a “first day” at work felt like. Nervousness, excitement, anticipation, nerves, all wrapped up in a cute teal top and black slacks and painful heels. 🙂

It was a good first day, although my hand felt like it was going to fall off after signing EVERY single page of the employee handbook, plus other pages.  I have my own office–it is GIANT. Seriously. It’s huge. I am going to be doing intakes and individual therapy sessions in there. I am going to decorate, make it my own. I am going to hit the Ikea in a paycheck (or two) and pick up a few lamps, maybe a rug, and some “art.” Don’t judge me…you all have some sort of Ikea art on your walls! 😛  I have a few complaints, but they are SO minor.

One: It’s a pretty formal environment. I’m “Ms. Thomas” to everybody, and all of the staff goes by Ms. or Mr. or whatever their professional title may be. All day I kept introducing myself as Jamie and then hesitated to tell them my last name. Odd. I know. Two: No casual Fridays. I am going to miss my jeans!

Food wise, it actually wasn’t too bad. I’m still hungry and may cut up the rest of the watermelon in the fridge before it goes bad. I have to run to Target in a bit and pick up some random things for the office (picture frames, a giant water bottle because they don’t have a water cooler, and other things) and then get some sleep, since I didn’t get much sleep last night.

Breakfast:
Yogurt and granola (not as car friendly as I would have liked): 4 pts

Lunch:
2 corn tortillas: 3
Coke: 2 pts.
1/2 El Pollo Loco chicken bowl, no cheese: 5

Dinner:
Steak and orzo salad (it’s like crack. I can’t stop eating it, it’s SO good!): 6 points
